About the Book
Our book explores community and the interwoven web of life we are all part of — honouring ancient traditions while creating space for new ideas, for both children and adults. Through art, stories, songs, and gentle reflections, we imagine different ways of living together in harmony with nature and each other.
We celebrate the beauty of folk traditions, seasonal rhythms, and the cosmic cycles that guide the turning of the year. We reflect on time, how it was once experienced through stars, seasons, and shared rituals — and how these rhythms still live quietly beneath our modern lives.

Interwoven with these themes is a personal journey of recovery and reconnection — expressed through earth-pigment paintings, voice, and moments of stillness with the land.

Blending ancestral memory with contemporary perspectives, this book invites readers to slow down, to listen, and to remember our place within the living, breathing web that holds us all.
About the Author
Rooted in the rhythms of land and sea, Sophie Povel is an artist, singer, and yoga teacher whose work weaves together nature, ancestral traditions, and contemporary life. She paints with earth pigments gathered on the island of Vlieland, sings songs that echo through time, and creates spaces where voice, body, and land meet.
Her personal journey of recovery and reconnection led her to explore how the cycles of the cosmos, the turning of the seasons, and the living traditions of community can offer pathways back to balance.
In this book series, she invites readers to step into the interwoven web of life — to listen to old stories, learn from the stars, celebrate seasonal customs, and imagine new ways of living together in harmony with each other and the Earth.
Through stories, reflections, songs, and art, she bridges the ancient and the modern, the cosmic and the intimate — reminding us that we are all part of a living, breathing web.
